Silver

I hope I didnt miss anything.  But after beta, Io concentrate on polishin the character and as usual I aniamte them for silver submission.  I managed to do 15 animations for silver.  And Io's still doing the other 7 plus the 2d plant projection.  I'm aware that we're running out of time to make it to silver, so the animations that I did here is quite rough and basic.  I'll polish them more for gold.


Hopefully we can still make it to Gold submission. only halfway to go... Oh and music is made by Jan Zhan.

Beta

We werent able to have animations in beta at all because we've got problems with the skinning of the character.  and we could only submit this image.


I did the cannon (model, rig and uv), fruit chest (model, rig and uv), the ground and rocks.  Io gave me the texture on everything except the character.  He handles the characters (model, rig, uv, textures) and the sky and composite the scene.

Environment

And then I started modelling the environment, some rocks and some mountains and pillars.




 the reference images that I used this time is from Final Fantasy XIII-2.  And as always, the texture is done by Io.







Alpha

Aftwerwards, Io is handling the character and he showcasing it for alpha.  While I did the animation.  I did 15 of the animations. and he did the last 7.


Fruit Chest and Cannon Development

These are some screen grabs on the chest and cannon development.  The cannon is nearing final stage now and so does the chest.

And another model for the cannon... I just playing with the textures in mudbox.  The textures are all credits from Io.  I just UV-ed them and apply them to the cannon.


Previz-2

After model the cannon and some of the basic fruits and the chest, I moved on to animate the previz.  I did all 22 scenes in this one.  Too bad I cant find the video. 





Afterwards, Io help me with the compositing and 2D effects.

These are some cannon reference images that I use to design the fruit cannon.

And the image below is taken from Leonardo Da Vinci's work. Somehow the style and the mood of his design is just awesome.


Treasure Chest (Reference Images)

Next up is the fruit chest. I forgot to put the reference images for the cannon in the previous post.  So I might just post it in here.  This is the reference for the fruit chest.  It looks more interesting to use a treasure chest as the basic model.






And this last image is the fruit chest with the magical fruits inside.

after agreeing on the story, it's time to start designing the cannon.


This artwork was created by Irineo Maniego.  After spending some time doodling the concept art for the cannon and building basic models in maya, I've come up with these designs:


Previz


This is the previz that Io and I did. We record this together with the help from Faisal Khan and Toby Sperring.


Not satisfied with the story of this previz, Jeremy asked us to make another one with a different ending.  and here it is:


We shown both of these in front of the class and lecturers.  The first one was picked.  I did the sound effects on this one.  Irineo Maniego (Io) did the compositing and 2d effects.
